Ty Conklin was a standout goaltender for the University of New Hampshire Wildcats for three seasons from 1998 to 2001. In his final season as a senior captain, Conklin had an impressive 17-12-5 record with a 2.05 goals-against average and five shutouts. His strong performance earned him a top-ten nomination for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award in both 2000 and 2001, making him a two-time finalist. He was also named a First-Team All-American in 2001. Conklin’s collegiate career was highlighted by a program-record 1.84 goals-against average in the 1998-99 season, which helped the Wildcats reach the NCAA tournament championship game.

After college, Conklin signed as an undrafted free agent with the Edmonton Oilers in 2001. He played in parts of nine NHL seasons for six different teams: the Edmonton Oilers, Columbus Blue Jackets, Buffalo Sabres, Pittsburgh Penguins, Detroit Red Wings, and St. Louis Blues. He finished his NHL career with a record of 96-67-21 in 215 games played, with a .906 save percentage and 17 shutouts. Conklin also had a successful career in the AHL, playing for the Hamilton Bulldogs, Syracuse Crunch, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, and Grand Rapids Griffins. He was a part of the Edmonton Oilers team that made it to the Stanley Cup Final in 2006 and the Pittsburgh Penguins team that made it to the final in 2008.
