During his collegiate hockey career at Minnesota State University through the 2024–25 season, goaltender Alex Tracy developed into one of the nation’s premier netminders. After posting a 6–3–0 record as a freshman in 2022–23 and a 13–10–4 record in 2023–24, Tracy delivered a dominant junior campaign in 2024–25. He recorded a 26–9–3 record across 38 appearances, leading the CCHA and ranking among national leaders with a 1.42 goals-against average, a .946 save percentage, and 5 shutouts. His exceptional performance earned him CCHA Player of the Year, CCHA Goaltender of the Year, All-CCHA First Team, and AHCA West Second Team All-American honors, while also being selected as a finalist for both the Mike Richter Award and the Hobey Baker Memorial Award. Off the ice, Tracy maintained a 3.94 GPA as a finance major and actively participated in community initiatives, including:
- Youth Hockey Clinics: Volunteering at regional youth hockey clinics to coach and mentor aspiring young goaltenders.
- Campus & Community Outreach: Participating in team-led visits to local schools, hospitals, and community events throughout the Mankato area.
- Student-Athlete Initiatives: Engaging in university athletic leadership events and community service drives during his collegiate tenure.
