The Nittany Lions freshman phenom dazzled with his fantastic playmaking ability enroute to the Big Ten scoring title, gaining 38 points in 24 conference games. McKenna also set the team record for assists in a season with 36, including one huge night when he had a goal and seven assists vs Ohio State, the most points in an NCAA game in 39 years. Besides the Big Ten scoring title, McKenna was named Second Team all-conference, Big Ten all-freshman team and was the circuit’s Freshman of the Year. He was also named a Second team All American and entered the season as a projected number one overall draft pick for 2026.

- Was tied for 4th in nation in points, 2nd in assists and was tied for 3rd in nation in shots (152)
- Was drafted #1 overall in the 2026 draft by Toronto – was a member of Team Canada at 2026 World Junior Championship – was national rookie of the month in October and February
