Jeff Farkas was a prominent forward for Boston College from 1996 to 2000. During his four seasons, he was a key part of a successful program that went to four consecutive Frozen Fours. His senior season was his most productive, as he led the team with 58 points, scoring 32 goals and adding 26 assists. For his outstanding play, Farkas was named a First-Team All-American and a top-ten finalist for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award in 2000. He was also a member of the Hockey East All-Star First Team and the NCAA All-Tournament Team in the same year.

After his college career, Farkas was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1997. He played in a limited number of games for the Maple Leafs and the Atlanta Thrashers, with a professional career that also included time in the AHL. He played in a total of 11 NHL games between 2000 and 2003, recording two points. His career was cut short due to a spinal injury.
