Hugo Boisvert was a standout forward for the Ohio State Buckeyes from 1996 to 1999. In his final season, he recorded 51 points on 24 goals and 27 assists in 41 games. His impressive performance earned him several honors, including a First-Team All-CCHA selection, a Second-Team All-American selection, and a top-ten finalist for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award in 1999. Boisvert finished his three-year collegiate career with 147 points, which ranks seventh all-time in program history. He also helped lead the Buckeyes to their first-ever Frozen Four appearance in 1998.

After leaving Ohio State a year early, Boisvert signed with the Atlanta Thrashers but never played in an NHL game. His professional career was spent primarily in the AHL with the Grand Rapids Griffins and the International Hockey League (IHL) with the Orlando Solar Bears, where he won the Turner Cup in 2001. Boisvert later moved to Germany, where he had a long and successful career in the German professional leagues, including the DEL and DEL2.
