Dwayne Roloson was a star goaltender for the University of Massachusetts Lowell from 1990 to 1994. In his senior season (1993-94), he had an impressive year, earning First-Team All-American honors and being named the Hockey East Player of the Year. He helped lead the team to the second round of the NCAA Tournament that season. His outstanding performance also earned him a spot as a top 10 finalist for the Hobey Baker Award.
After graduating, the undrafted Roloson embarked on a long and successful professional career, playing in the NHL for 14 seasons with six different teams, including the Calgary Flames, Minnesota Wild, Edmonton Oilers, and Tampa Bay Lightning. Roloson had his most notable playoff performance in 2006 with the Edmonton Oilers, where he backstopped the team to the Stanley Cup Finals. He was also a two-time World Champion with Team Canada, winning gold in 2007 and silver in 2009. Roloson retired in 2012 and has since transitioned into a coaching role.
