Jason Krog had an exceptional college hockey career at the University of New Hampshire from 1995 to 1999. In his junior season (1997–98), he was a Hobey Baker Award finalist, finishing with 33 goals and 33 assists for 66 points. He continued to improve, and in his senior year, he had a sensational season leading the nation in scoring with 85 points and ultimately winning the prestigious Hobey Baker Award. He finished his collegiate career with a total of 238 points.

After a successful college career, Krog went on to play 15 seasons of professional hockey. Though undrafted, he played in 202 NHL games with five teams: the New York Islanders, Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, Atlanta Thrashers, New York Rangers, and Vancouver Canucks. He also had a very successful career in the minor leagues and in Europe, winning the Calder Cup with the Chicago Wolves in 2008 and being named the AHL MVP and top scorer that same year. Krog retired from playing in 2017.
