Todd White played college hockey for Clarkson University from 1993 to 1997. He was a highly decorated player, earning All-American honors and being named the ECAC Player of the Year in his senior season. His outstanding performance that year, which included a career-best 74 points, led to him being named a Hobey Baker Award finalist, recognizing him as one of the top ten college hockey players in the nation. He finished his four-year collegiate career with 91 goals and 106 assists for 197 points.

After going undrafted, White signed with the Chicago Blackhawks in 1997. He went on to play 13 seasons in the NHL for six different teams: the Blackhawks, Philadelphia Flyers, Ottawa Senators, Minnesota Wild, Atlanta Thrashers, and New York Rangers. White had his most productive seasons with the Ottawa Senators and Atlanta Thrashers, reaching the 20-goal mark three times. He retired in 2011, having played 653 NHL games and recording 381 points.
