Steve Saviano was a standout forward for the University of New Hampshire Wildcats from 2000 to 2004. In his senior season, he was a Top 10 finalist for the Hobey Baker Award, a fitting culmination of a remarkable college career. That year, he led the Wildcats with a career-high 27 goals and 49 points. He was also honored as the Hockey East Player of the Year, a First-Team All-American, and received the Walter Brown Award as the top American-born college hockey player in New England.
Following his collegiate success, Saviano embarked on a long professional career, primarily playing in European leagues. Although he had brief stints in the AHL and ECHL in North America, he found more lasting success overseas. He played in various European leagues in Sweden, Finland, Germany, and the United Kingdom, where he was known for his speed and offensive skill. Saviano finished his career in the German second division in 2019 after a distinguished 15-year professional journey.
