Rob Collins was an outstanding forward for Ferris State University from 1999 to 2003. He played a crucial role in the Bulldogs’ most successful era, including their first-ever NCAA tournament appearance in 2003. In the 2001-02 season, Collins led his team with 58 points from 23 goals and 35 assists. His performance that year earned him a top-ten nomination for the Hobey Baker Award and a spot on the All-CCHA First Team. He finished his career as one of Ferris State’s all-time leading scorers, with 179 points in 138 games.

Following his collegiate career, Collins played professionally for several years, primarily in the AHL and ECHL. He signed as a free agent with the New York Islanders in 2003 and played for their affiliates, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers and Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies. Collins also had stints with the Colorado Avalanche organization. He spent the majority of his professional career in Europe, playing in Germany and Norway before retiring in 2013.
