Mark Mowers had a distinguished college hockey career at the University of New Hampshire from 1994 to 1998. The undrafted forward was a key player for the Wildcats, earning two All-Hockey East selections during his four years. In his senior season, Mowers was an AHCA East First-Team All-American and a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award. He finished his collegiate career with 162 points in 144 games.

After his college career, Mowers played in the National Hockey League for seven seasons, accumulating 62 points in 278 games with the Nashville Predators, Detroit Red Wings, Boston Bruins, and Anaheim Ducks. He also had a very successful career in the minor leagues, where he was a prolific scorer, notably earning a spot on the AHL All-Star Second Team in the 2002-03 season. Mowers also played professionally in Europe before retiring in 2011.
