Kent Huskins played college hockey for four seasons at Clarkson University from 1997 to 2001. A talented defensive defenseman, he was a key player for the Golden Knights, helping them achieve two ECAC Regular Season titles and a conference tournament championship. In his senior season, Huskins was a co-captain and had a standout year, leading all ECAC defensemen with 34 points on six goals and 28 assists. His impressive performance earned him several honors, including being named to the NCAA East First All-American Team, the ECAC Best Defensive Defenseman, and a top-ten finalist for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award in 2001.
After his collegiate career, Huskins embarked on a professional journey that spanned several leagues. Drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in 1998, he spent several seasons in the AHL before making his NHL debut with the Anaheim Ducks during the 2006-07 season. He went on to play parts of seven seasons in the NHL for the Ducks, San Jose Sharks, St. Louis Blues, Detroit Red Wings, and Philadelphia Flyers. The highlight of his professional career was winning the Stanley Cup with the Anaheim Ducks in 2007. Huskins played in 318 NHL games, recording 13 goals and 55 assists for 68 points, and also had a lengthy career in the AHL.
