David Emma was an exceptional forward for Boston College from 1987 to 1991, where he became the Eagles’ all-time leading scorer with 239 points on 112 goals and 127 assists in 147 games. He was consistently recognized for his outstanding play, being named to the All-Hockey East First Team and an AHCA East First-Team All-American in both 1990 and 1991. His stellar senior season, where he put up 81 points in 39 games, led to him being named the 1991 Hobey Baker Award winner, an honor for the top player in NCAA Division I men’s hockey. He was also a top-10 finalist for the award in 1990.

After his distinguished collegiate career, Emma was drafted by the New Jersey Devils and went on to play professionally from 1991 to 2001. He played a total of 34 games in the NHL for the New Jersey Devils, Boston Bruins, and Florida Panthers. Although his NHL career was brief, he was a productive player in the minor leagues, including the AHL and IHL, and also spent several seasons playing overseas with teams like EC KAC in Austria. Emma also represented the United States on the international stage, including at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, France.
