Brian Swanson was a highly successful player at Colorado College from 1995 to 1999. In his sophomore season (1996-97), he was a Hobey Baker Award finalist. He was also an All-American and a three-time All-WCHA First-Team selection during his time with the Tigers. He finished his college career with 232 points, making him the second all-time leading scorer in Colorado College history.
After college, Swanson played professionally for over a decade. He was drafted by the San Jose Sharks in 1994, but his NHL career consisted of 70 games with the Edmonton Oilers and Atlanta Thrashers, where he tallied 17 points. Swanson also had a productive career in the minor leagues, including winning the AHL MVP and leading the league in scoring during the 2001-02 season with the Hamilton Bulldogs. He also played six seasons in Germany before retiring in 2012.
