Randy Robitaille was a standout forward for Miami University for two seasons, from 1995 to 1997. In his second and final collegiate season (1996-97), he had a particularly impressive year, scoring 27 goals and 34 assists for 61 points in 39 games. His performance led to him being named a Hobey Baker Award finalist, an honor that recognizes him as one of the top college hockey players in the nation. After his two successful seasons at Miami, he decided to turn professional.
Following his college career, Robitaille went on to have a long and well-traveled professional career, playing for 18 seasons across North America and Europe. He played parts of 12 seasons in the NHL with nine different teams, including the Boston Bruins, Nashville Predators, and Ottawa Senators. He also spent time in the AHL, where he won the Les Cunningham Award as the league’s MVP in the 1998-99 season. He also played in Switzerland and Russia before retiring.
