Eric Perrin was an exceptional forward for the University of Vermont from 1993 to 1997. In his junior season (1995-96), he was a Hobey Baker Award finalist, a prestigious award given to the top college hockey player in the nation. He was a key component of a high-scoring line that included future NHL stars Martin St. Louis and Tim Thomas. Perrin was a prolific scorer, amassing 220 points in his collegiate career, a total that ranks third all-time in Catamounts history.

After his college career, Perrin went undrafted but had a long and well-traveled professional career spanning 19 seasons. While he only played 215 NHL games, he was a productive player in the minor leagues and in Europe. He won the Calder Cup in 2005 with the Philadelphia Phantoms and was a top scorer in both the American Hockey League (AHL) and European leagues. He won two European titles and retired in 2016, finishing a successful career abroad.
