Zoe Bergeron
2020 | Rhode Island | GIRLS
La Salle Academy | Rams | GIRLS
Over the past 4 years that I have coached Zoe, I have always been amazed with her insatiable work ethic and positive outlook on life. Zoe’s work ethic is second to none and certainly in the top 1% of all of the athlete’s that I have coached over the past 30 years. Very few high school hockey players are able to push themselves to exhaustion every time they step on the ice. It does not matter whether it is a drill in practice or shift in a big game, Zoe gives it her all every time. This hustle does not go unnoticed by teammates and coaches alike and serves as the bar with which other players measure themselves. Our coaching staff acknowledges a player each week who has excelled at practice and exceeded expectations. I publicly told the entire team that Zoe could win this award every week. As a senior captain, Zoe leads her teammates by modeling a strong, positive work ethic coupled with a supportive environment for young players to thrive.
In addition to her athletic success, I have always been impressed by Zoe’s character and positive approach to life. She is a determined, affable, and most importantly a respectful young woman. Zoe displays a great deal of respect for herself, her peers, and others. This is why she is one of the most liked members of our team. She has an infectious and welcoming smile and the unique ability to brighten your day with a simple and genuine hello. She embodies the ultimate teammate!
