William Macdonald is the ideal student-athlete. A National Honor Society member, William’s GPA is 4.364 with five AP classes and 2 labs and his SAT score is 1560 while playing hockey during the past four years. Through hard work in the classroom, William has received numerous academic awards and honors: Maximum Honors; All Conference Academic Team Member, Hockey; National Merit Commended Scholar; Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Award for high achievement in Math and Science; AP Scholar with distinction; Magna Cum Laude, National Latin Exam; and Cum Dignitate, Connecticut Latin Contest.

William is a natural leader. Off the ice his community leadership roles include: President and Founder of the Conard HS Chapter with Habitat for Humanity and President of the Sandy Hook Promise Club. On the ice William has captained the Conard Hockey team for two years. William always has a smile on his face, maintains a team-first mentality, and never gives up on a shift. He always does the little things right which reflects strong character. William is a smart, articulate, and mature young man that has a bright future.
