Tyler Steffens is a tremendously gifted young man whose drive, passion and commitment to excellence allow him to influence others through both leadership and lifestyle. After transferring to White Bear Lake, Tyler quickly catapulted his Bantam AA team to a state title in 2017 and has continued his impressive play at the high school level where he was named the varsity starter for the 2019/2020 season. Despite his impressive numbers in goal, it is Tyler’s demeanor, conduct, and willingness to give back to his community that makes him such a valued member of our program. He exemplifies a maturity level that goes well beyond his years and has positively impacted everyone fortunate enough to meet and know Tyler. It is because of these attributes and skills that Tyler was made a manager at one of our local McDonalds where he continues to work all while excelling not only at his job, but also as a student and an athlete. His ability to to achieve a work/life balance has proven more effective than many adults and is why he will enjoy a tremendous amount of success in whatever it is he chooses to do after high school. Tyler’s willingness to invest 100% effort in all that he does, including the most menial of tasks, is what makes him such a trustworthy, dependable, and impressive young man whose presence has greatly impacted our program, our school district, and our community.

When he is not practicing, working, or in school, Tyler can at times be found working with our youth teams and goalies as a way to give back to our association. It is for all the reasons aforementioned that Tyler was a unanimous and easy selection for the Hobey Baker Character Memorial Award.
