Max Robins is most deserving of Hobey Baker Character Award .He embraces the values that the game of hockey teaches . These values are coachability , ,integrity ,commitment ,strength of character , leadership and outstanding sportsmanship .
Max has worked tirelessly to improve his play each year in our Upper Arlington Hockey Program . He has the unique ability to make every teammate on the ice a better player . He is an unselfish player . Over the past 2 years he has received the team Play Maker award (assist leader). In Max’s sophomore year he won the team Sportsman Awardemblematic of his respect for his teammates as well as the game of hockey .
Over the past 2 years Max has been our inspirational leader . He leads with integrity . At practice his work ethic is a model of commitment and hard work – a role that the team embraces , especially the underclassmen trying to develop their skills and hockey sense . As a leader Max has been a unanimous choice of the coaching staff to be one our captains . He has the trust to assist the coaching staff in gauging the the cohesiveness of the team at times as well as assisting the staff in organizing and facilitating practice when needed .
In the community Max has volunteered with special needs hockey . At Upper Arlington High School he is a member of the Give Me Rocks Club which focuses on allowing students with disabilities to be involved with UA sports teams .
As a two sport athlete Max is also dedicated to his studies . He has earned the teamKwik Kopy Scholarship Award .It is presented to the player with the highest GPA . Max has earned a GPA of 4.273 having straight A’s in every course he has taken in his entire H S career . This includes 6 AP courses , 4 honors courses and 1 IB course .
Max Robins embraces the values shaped by legend of Hobey Baker . Max is a highly skilled and unselfish player ,role model , volunteer in the community , team leader , scholar athlete and posses the character deserving of the Upper Arlington Hobey Baker 2022 Character Award
