Our team struggled with a short bench for most of the games this season. Matthew was a leader on the ice and in the locker room, and was willing to do whatever he could to help his teammates, knowing he would spend long minutes on the ice without any rest. He always had a positive attitude, displaying his love for and commitment to the game regardless of the final score.

Matthew is an outstanding role model for the younger players on our team. He is an excellent student; he’s a member of the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta, a high school mathematics honor society. He plays varsity lacrosse and golf, and is also an Eagle Scout.

I have thoroughly enjoyed coaching Matthew for the past four years, and will miss his hockey skills and leadership greatly! I know the dedication and hard work he’s displayed at school and on the ice will make him successful in college and his future years.
