Matthew is the definition of a team player. This season, during his senior year he ran into a tough situation. Due to COVID-19, the season was greatly shortened. Also, Matthew is a goaltender and split time with another goalie who is a year younger. This did not stop Matthew from giving his all every practice and supporting his teammates in any way he could. Matthew’s love for the game, desire to win and his willingness make everyone around him better, shows he is the most deserving player on our team for the Hobey Baker award. Matthew showed leadership by giving his all and succeeding in the classroom, on the ice, and how he holds himself as a young man. We wish Matthew the best of luck in the future. It was truly a pleasure being able to coach a kid like him.
