Matt is a Senior and currently in his 4th year with the Braves HS Hockey program. During Matt’s 4 year career he has always been in the top 3 in scoring and has amassed over 75 points in that time. The reason Matt deserves this award is not because of his consistent production on the scoresheet, it is because of his commitment to the culture of our program and his willingness to do things that don’t show up on the scoresheet.

Matt is the Captain of a Braves team that was picked to finish 9th in the WDA this year. His leadership on and off the ice has led the Braves to be in the top 4 of the WDA late into the season and has propelled them to be a candidate for qualifying for ND State for the 2nd year in a row. He is arguably the best 2-way forward in the WDA. Although not a tracked statistic, he most likely leads the west in blocked shots. He also anchors our power play and is our top penalty killer.

Matt also takes care of business off the ice. He has a 3.854 GP and has plans to work in finance after he is done with his education.
