Mandy had an outstanding Junior season, playing an integral part both offensively and defensively in winning our first conference championship since 1997. She was on track to do some amazing things as a Senior as the conference and state was buzzing about the line of three sisters. Unfortunately, a fall soccer injury resulted in a torn ACL and missed Senior season. This would be more than enough to upset anyone, but Mandy made the choice to still help her team and teammates out in any way she could. She is still listed on the roster as an Assistant Captain and fills that role well, still wearing her jersey for every game to be part of the team.
She stands on the bench with the coaching staff giving her teammates compliments and helping them to see the game how she sees it. She helps with water bottles, taping and bringing sticks out, and pretty much anything else she can do to help the team run smoothly and continue to be an important piece. The best part – no coach ever asked her to step into those roles – she just wanted to help. To us, that is true character. Despite anger at an injury and thoughts of what could have been, she made the choice to have a great attitude and work her way back for college hockey while still being the best teammate she can be.
