Lauren is a Senior Captain for the Skippers. She is our team’s vocal leader on and off the ice. When we need a boost of energy, Lauren is there to positively lead the way. She is a massive contributor to our success. She is a calm and collective shutdown defensive machine, and yet is also an offensive weapon especially on our top power play unit. Her passing is top-notch due to her ability to see open lanes, her overall anticipation, and her awareness of the game. With her deep knee bend she has deceptive speed and floats up the ice. We rely on her in all scenarios and trust her smart positional play in any situation. Lauren is highly dependable to play defense first, to play smart in the d-zone, to give opponents nothing in the neutral zone, and is one of the best at cutting off opponents trying to get to the net using correct angles. Lauren’s hockey IQ is one of the best I have every had the opportunity to coach. She asks intelligent questions, and has the ability to implement feedback immediately. Through her daily actions and leadership qualities, she represents what it means to have a team-first mentality and she plays hard because she wants her team to win. Lauren takes tremendous pride in wearing the M; everything she does is for her team and teammates!
