Jake has been a player on the Gabriel Richard Varsity Hockey team for each of his four years of high school. He has been recognized as an Alternate Captain his junior year and a Captain his senior year for his leadership on and off the ice. He has a great work ethic on the ice as well as in the classroom. This is evident in his improvement in play each year while maintaining a high GPA. Jake is always striving to improve his game and recognizes that he can do so by helping underclassman adjust to the high school game and helping them to improve their play. Coaches count on Jake to implement the game plan and lead the team on the ice. Jake’s play as a defenseman and leadership have been instrumental in leading his team to Regional Championships and Final Four appearances in the Michigan High School State Playoffs each of the last two years. One of Jake’s most memorable plays was a tape-to-tape stretch pass in a 2019 State Quarterfinal game that led to the overtime game winning goal and propelled his team to the State Semifinals.
