Manny came into high school having previously played hockey on a boys team. Manny wanted a girls high school team and for two years talked and recruited and persisted in starting up a team. Finally at the start of her junior year, Manny recruited enough girls to start a team. In the team’s inaugural year Manny was voted team captain. Manny has inspired and been the driving force of this team, all the while fighting through diabetes.
