Heather is exactly what a coach looks for in a leader on and off the ice. Heather is an individual that leads by example and vocally. Her sense of humor, enthusiasm, and positive attitude make her a young woman that people look to. Heather is a woman of high integrity so when she makes positive decisions, her peers follow suit. She is the type of young women you want leading your team.

Heather is not just a leader on the ice. She is a strong advocate for girls hockey in our community. She works with youth teams above and beyond what is expected. She mentors a youth team and then works at extra events to get young girls excited about hockey and playing for Prior Lake. She has a strong commitment to the game of hockey and shares that passion with the whole community of Prior Lake.

As an athlete, Heather works hard every day. She never takes a day off. She leads by example and is relentless as a player. She is able to take feedback and uses it to make her a stronger athlete. She is able to handle adversity with a positive attitude and lead herself and her teammates to a brighter outcome. She has shown this through 3 ACL surgeries and still be a strong competitor on the ice today.

As a student, Heather is hard-working and highly committed to her education. I believe that her excellent transcript will attest to that fact. In addition, she is quite involved in a number of extracurricular activities. She displays a great attitude in the classroom. The same work ethic that has made her such a good hockey has made her a strong student. Outgoing, and always willing to help someone out, Heather is very popular with her fellow students. She has committed herself to providing service to other and to encouraging others to do the same.

As a teammate, Heather is the first one to cheer her other teammates on. She is dependable, her teammates know they can rely on Heather. She is a loyal, honest, considerate, and supportive individual who has the ability to see and understand things from another person’s perspective. She is a great direct communicator and knows how to raise and discuss adversity that comes about within a team in a non-threatening manner.

Heather is a fine, well-balanced person with an abundance of positive qualities. Heather has excellent capacity for growth and excellent potential for success based on her good character, work habits, leadership, and achievement.
