This young woman has shown tremendous leadership during her career as a member of the Shakopee Girls Varsity Hockey team. Gracie Scott embraces the values our game teaches- coachability, character, commitment, teamwork, and sportsmanship. She is a young woman with integrity who has shown immense commitment to and appreciation for her teammates and coaches. From helping to organize virtual game nights, adopt-a-family and secret Santa to taking time to connect with all of the members of our team, Gracie has definitively fulfilled her leadership role as an assistant captain. Perhaps her true asset to our team, however, is her attitude and work ethic. Like many of us, Gracie’s career in our girls high school program has had adversity, but for her these challenges are simple opportunities for positivity. Gracie has met all of these challenges with optimism and determination, which are essential values of our sport and life. Gracie’s leadership, attitude, and work ethic make her an excellent recipient of the Hobey Baker High School Character Award.
