Grace has played on the Mavericks Hockey Team for 4 years. She is the teams only female player but her gender has meant nothing other than having to dress in separate locker room. Grace is at the rink ready to play before any other teammate. She is always ready to come into the locker room for pregame and usually to wait for the other slow guys to get their gear on. Grace is simply considered one of the guys.
She is a simply a coaches dream. She is smart, always heads up and can play any position. Although we are unsure about the position of goalie, she would likely play if she was asked. All the players look at Grace like any other player on the team but with great respect at how she handles herself on and off the ice. She always has a smile and a can do attitude. At the beginning of each game, you never have to ask because Grace is always front and center to lead the chant. 1-2-3 Mavericks! Looking back, as I give all the players nick names, hers was bang on. CHIEF!
