Donald Johnson III
2020 | North Carolina | BOYS
Triad Alliance 18U AA | Storm | BOYS
Don Johnson is one of those players that has a love of the sport of hockey that goes beyond his own desire to play. Don has been Captain or Alternate Captain four of the last 5 years. He has been a student coach consistently each season for the past six years and has taken three levels of coaching clinics, he plans to petition USAH to keep his credentials current once he turns 18. He has coached teams from Learn to Play (year-round), 8U, and 10U, (during the travel season) as well as the occasional private lesson (year-round). Over the past four years of high school he has not only completed his high school graduation requirements but has also been enrolled in college and will be receiving his Associates Degree in May (6-weeks before he receives his High School Diploma). All of this has been done while he played travel hockey at levels from A to AAA and kept his class ranking in the top 15 and a GPA of 4.229. Don has looked at colleges that not only have a club team where he can play but a youth program where he can coach, because to Don the gift of hockey is something everyone should enjoy. I will not only miss seeing him play but see him give of his time and love of the sport to those much younger and who are just starting their years of hockey.
