Dillon has represented the Chatfield Chargers Varsity Ice Hockey team as one of its true stalwarts due to his leadership and dedication on the ice, on the bench and in the locker room for the last 3 seasons. He is a student of the game and leads by example by bringing his boundless energy to every game and practice and by putting the team on his shoulders through difficult situations. His focus and drive to meet individual and team goals, willingness to do what is asked of him, and positive attitude is something every coach looks to use as an example for other players to elevate their game and focus as individuals and as a team.
During the season, Dillon also helps as a mentor with youth teams on a regular basis, dedicating his time to giving back to the game and his community. Dillion works primarily with local youth players who are just learning the game, if not skating for their first time, as well as continuously working with the Colorado Golden Eagles, a member of the American Special Hockey Association. Dillion’s patience, dedication, and love of the game has had a positive influence on the lives of the young boys and girls around him. He has helped to grow Chatfield Ice hockey into one of the best player development organizations in the Denver, CO area. Dillon’s character, drive, determination and selflessness toward our sport and its growth allows me, without reservation, to give Dillon my recommendation for The Hobey Baker High School Character Award.
