Dakota Sexton
2019 | North Carolina | BOYS
18U Polar Ice Hurricanes | Hurricanes | BOYS
Dakota Sexton has been selected for this award because of his character and achievements on and off the ice. Dakota has played hockey for many years. Before playing with the Polar organization here in North Carolina, he also played in Maine growing up as a child. I have know Dakota for 5 years now and have coached him for 3 of them. He is one of my team captains. He is always willing to help a new player, whether it is conversation about a play or about how to play their position. He is a goal scorer and his attendance is exceptional. He is one of the players that is there an hour before the game to help prep before the game and give motivation and inspiration before a game. He is a player who can put pucks in the net and is a game changer on the ice. Even before I had Dakota on my team and was coaching for another organization, he was always the first player from the other team to come over to me and introduce himself and shake hand. He than became friends with my son and wanted me to Coach him, so I went over to the Polar organization and have coached there ever since. He is not only an exceptional hockey player he is also a good friend to other players on and off the ice. Dakota is also an exceptional student in school with has very clear goals for what he would like to achieve in his college career.
