I have never coached a player who is smarter and who has better hockey sense than Coby Darer. His decision-making and positioning are exceptional. His awareness on the ice, anticipation of the play, and understanding of his responsibilities are phenomenal. Coby is solid defensively and always effectively backchecks. Effort is always given and complaints never offered. His playmaking and movement of the puck are solid and serve to enhance the players around him.

Coby is measured, choosing to lead by example both on the ice and off. In this regard, he is a steading force. As a coach, it’s comforting to know that when he is on the ice not only will he display dependability, skill and teamwork but that he will also draw these traits out in others. He is willing to play any position gladly and is dedicated to the team. In all of the years that I have coached him, I cannot remember a time when he lost his composure or exhibited anything other than outstanding sportsmanship.

In closing, I would say that I wish I could have a team of players like Coby.
