It is with great pleasure that I write this letter to recommend Berit Hefti. Over the past four years I have coached her as part of the Lady Flyers ice hockey team. During that time, she has consistently proved to be an intelligent, hardworking, and focused student athlete. Berit has great talent as an athlete and is a natural leader. Berit has served as a team Captain for two seasons with the Lady Flyers.
Berit’s high academic achievement speaks for itself. She takes her school work seriously and sets high expectations for herself which she consistently attained. In addition, she actively balances her multiple priorities of school and extracurricular involvement. She is highly organized and responsible in her self-management of her schedule and priorities. As a coach, she is a pleasure to work with as I know she will bring her best each day.
One can easily see tangible evidence of Berit’s success on paper. I have also witnessed her ability to build relationships with teammates. Her team focus is also evident with her willingness to mentor younger players and welcome them to the team.
For a multitude of reasons including those explained above, I selected Berit as our team’s Hobey Baker Award winner for this season. The award recognizes high school hockey players such as Berit who exemplify integrity, commitment, teamwork, and community leadership.
It is my honor to recommend Berit Hefti to you at this time. I fully anticipate continued success in her future endeavors.
