Ben Kleinsmith

2018 | Colorado | BOYS

Lewis-Palmer High School | Rangers | BOYS

Ben has been a 4 year varsity player an served as an assistant captain his junior and senior years. He has been one of the most coach-able and respectful players our program has ever had. He is a leader both on ad off the ice and his character and excellence extends well beyond the ice rink.
Ben is an excellent student carrying a 3.8 GPA. He has manged this while not only playing hockey but being a member of the baseball program at his school where he was captain on the JV team hsi sophomore year and member of the varsity program for the last two years. His extracurricular school activities include serving as an assistant editor of the yearbook and also being part of a freshaman orientation/mentoring group called LINK.
Outside of school Ben has been involved in his community in various ways. He has volunteered at Bren’t Place in Denver which is a safe and clean housing facility for children with cancer to recover. He has also worked at the Marion House in Colorado Springs, which is a soup kitchen providing meals 365 days per year and at Tri-Lakes Cares, a community based, volunteer supported resource center whose purpose is to improve people’s lives through emergency, self-sufficiency and relief programs. Ben has also volunteered in many capacities at his church. Finally Ben gives his time to give back to kids in the community by helping the local ice rink program with their learn to play programs.
Ben is an amazing young man who is very deserving of this award and I can’t say enough about him.
