Alexander has always had a passion for the game of hockey. He has been playing since he has been 5 years old. Alex never misses practice. Alexander has always had raw energy, and his emotions would get the best of him. Over the years, he began to recognize his raw energy & emotion would get in his way. Over the last13 years, I have watched Alex manage and channel his energy & emotion into a level that became a positive attribute that worked for him; not only in the game of hockey, but in every aspect of his life. It is because of his personal inner-growth, his passion for the game, and the positive example of growth he demonstrated to his team, that I nominate Alex for the Hobey Baker Award without exception.
