Character. Excellence. A love for the game. Sportsmanship. These are the values that shaped the legend of Hobey Baker. The Hobey Baker Award committee believes that adversity builds character, and character builds excellence. Character makes the game better. The summary of this award could stand for a lot of our seniors, but no one more so than Senior Zach Sondreal. As one of our senior captains, Zach has led a veteran team on and off the ice. He motivated his peers in the senior class to work hard last summer and come in to camp in the best shape of their life. Zach knows when to lean on his peers and be tough, and knows when they need a kind ear and a piece of encouragement. Zach embodies what it means to be a Raider and I am proud to have him as one of the faces of our program. Zach leads by example, is extremely coachable, is selfless, and embodies what it means to be a student athlete. Zach is very involved at CDH and has an uncanny way of getting everyone to do the same. His peers trust him for advice and knows that he has their back at all times. He was a tremendous leader for our team and is a young man who gives his whole self to everything he does. We are very proud to have #6 on our team.
