Tommy MacDonald has played High School Hockey for me for the past 3 years and is my Assistant Captain. He relocated to South Carolina from Massachusetts after playing his first year of High School Hockey there, where he received the “Most Dedicated Playerâ€_x009d_ team award at the end of the season.

Tommy is an amazing person both on and off the ice. His work ethic, motivation and dedication to the game rubs off on all of his teammates. Tommy has the type of personality where everyone loves to be around him. He takes the time to become close with each of his teammates and makes sure they have whatever they need to be successful, including ensuring their skates were sharp for games since he works in the Pro Shop at the rink.

Tommy is a self-motivator and took it upon himself this year to go through the entire jersey ordering process for our team along with one of his teammates. From start to finish, he oversaw the process, ensuring that our team had the best quality, and best-looking jerseys! This was an impressive act because Tommy took it upon himself to do so. He is always looking to help out in any way that he can, and when he realizes something isn’t right, he steps up and immediately fixes it.

Tommy is a model individual both on the ice and in the class room as well, taking honors and advanced classes. Tommy is a member of the National Honor Society and the Future Business Leaders of America, better known as FBLA. Tommy has also been a volunteer coach and mentor for the Little Rays Program working with kids under the age of 6 in teaching them the basics of the sport and a love for the game!

Tommy has always been somebody I could count on, and anyone he knows can count on him to have their backs! The fact that Tommy takes such initiative and his attention to detail are hands down his most impressive traits that made this an easy decision for me and I couldn’t think of a better person for this award!
