Steven exemplifies the principles of the Hobey Baker High School Character Award through his demonstration of team leadership, positive mental attitude, and work ethic. Not only has he been an outstanding member of the Bloomington Blades on the ice, but he also demonstrates his leadership off the ice, leading his teammates by example and maintaining a level of academic excellence. The Bloomington Blades have been fortunate to have his leadership. He stands up for his teammates both on and off the ice and works to teach them how to develop. He pushes himself and his teammates and sets the standard along with his fellow captains for how the team plays. He is loved by his teammates and makes the rink a fun place to be for the entire team.
