Julia is a very deserving recipient of the Hobey Baker award; her commitment to the team, work ethic, and character on and off the ice are all attributes that her teammates look up to her for. Julia is a very driven individual who works hard single day and makes her teammates match her intensity in games and practices. She is also a great teammate and has built trust with players which allows her voice/actions to be heard by all. Her communication skills act as a bridge between the coaching staff and team to maintain a cohesive and productive environment. She puts the team above herself and will do anything within her power to see the team and her peers succeed. Julia’s character is shown on a daily basis at the rink, school, and within our community. She has very high standards for herself, but also has high expectations for those she surrounds herself with.
