Jonah Burd was voted on by his peers to represent Cumberland Valley Ice Hockey as our 2022 Hobey Baker High School Character Award recipient. Jonah is a four-year Varsity Player who has shown tremendous growth in both play and leadership every season with our organization. All of this hard work culminated to his Senior year, where he was named Captain Cumberland Valley’s Varsity team. More than being an excellent player, Jonah is an excellent young man. This is best personified by Jonah’s action in the waning moments of his Senior season. Rather spend the closing minutes of his final game in frustration, he spent them working on the ice to the final buzzer and thanking each of his teammates along the way. His hard work, dedication, and love of the game has set an example for his teammates to follow.
