Joe Stelacio has demonstrated on ice and off the ice leadership. He has led by example. A player who has grown into the leadership role through a strong work ethic and made his surrounding teammates better by pushing them to play better but not through an adversarial way. Exemplified character traits that embodied those that represent the essence of the Hobey Baker Award: Teamwork, Dedication, Integrity, Exceptional play, Humility, and above all, character.

His on the ice accomplishments included 18 goals, 25 assists (team leader and 2nd in the SHSHL) resulting in a total of 43 points and a +/- rating of 63 this season. He has demonstrated acuity to the game, played aggressively and maintained one of the lowest total penalty minutes of the team during the 2021/2022 season.
