This young woman has shown tremendous leadership during her career as a member of the Shakopee Girls Varsity Hockey team. She has earned the respect of her teammates, classmates and coaches because of her consistent work ethic and positive attitude. Emily Roder embraces the values our game teaches- coachability, strength of character, commitment, community building, teamwork, and outstanding sportsmanship. She is a young woman with integrity who has shown immense commitment to and appreciation for her teammates and coaches. She is also active in our community, volunteering over 100 hours during her high school career. She has served as a leader for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and as a volunteer coach for the Shakopee Youth Hockey Association. This hockey season, Emily also organized and executed our school’s most successful winter Saber Nation Station clothing drive. Emily’s community spirit and leadership make her an excellent recipient of the Hobey Baker High School Character Award.
