Carter’s leadership has been second to none for our program this year. Carter embodies what our team refers to as the 3 C’s in leadership: Caring, Courageous, and Consistent. From a consistency standpoint, Carter holds himself the highest standard. Whether it be at practice, games, or pre-season, as a coach you know Carter always puts forth 100% effort. There are no cutting corners for Carter and a result of his efforts has earned the respect of all of his teammates as well as his coaches. The second C, caring, is shown through Carter’s passion for the game. Carter puts the team first, ahead of his himself and shows his compassion and concern for the well-being of his teammates. Carter always treats his teammates with respect regardless of their tenure with the team and is known to vocally recognize their contributions to the team, which in turn helps create a positive, cohesive team environment. Carter is the first to step in to support a teammate regardless the situation. Lastly, is Courageous. I have yet to see a time where Carter is not willing to step up in a time of adversity, both on and off the ice. Carter’s actions embody our Team’s core values and he is the first we turn to when situations get tough. Carter displays he trusts both his teammates and coaches, all while holding his teammates and coaches accountable for their preparation and hard work for the benefit of the team.
