Bryce Darrow
2022 | Michigan | BOYS
Grand Rapids Christian | Eagles | BOYS
Bryce puts the team before himself all season, and no one on the team couldn’t have asked for a better teammate than Bryce. Bryce was on the team last year and didn’t see a lot of ice. I know it frustrated him, but he handled it quite well. All spring, summer, and fall he showed up to all of the skates and workouts. Trying to move up the ladder at tryouts. When he was told he didn’t accomplish his goal but was offered a spot on the team to still be a part of the team and work towards his goal, he grabbed it immediately with the biggest smile. No promise of any ice time was made for Bryce. He gave up his jersey number for a different player on the team and took a different one to start the season. Showed up all year working his tail off with a smile on his face. In some games he saw no ice time, other games he saw some ice time. But every game you would never know how much ice time he saw from the smile on his face. To him, it was all about bonding with the team. Helping any way he can. In out last game of the year, we got him out in the end of the game. Darrow stayed on the ice for at least 10 minutes with tears in his eyes. Knowing what he was missing out on by the season ending. He was your perfect team player who a coach loves to have on his team and we will miss having him next year.
