Andrew Gebicki has played four years at the varsity level for the Staples High School Wreckers. Over his four seasons, he has grown into not only our team’s number one defenseman, but also, he has developed as a leader. Andrew earned being named as one of our three senior captains before the season and has done a great job creating tradition and bringing guys together. He is a coachable and committed athlete who always wants to improve and do what is best for the team’s success. Since Andrew’s freshman season, he has gone through much adversity individually and team-wise, which he has battled through and came out of stronger and better as a young man on and off the ice. He is the epitome of what a Staples Wreckers student-athlete should look like in all aspects and is absolutely deserving of this year’s Hobey Baker Award.
