Syd is the ultimate captain and leader.  She is willing to do all of the work but doesn’t look for any credit herself.  Syd asked our coaching staff not to make a big deal about her USA U18 Team selection in front of the team because she didn’t want to draw attention to herself.  She’s the first on the ice for every practice and picks up pucks at the end of every practice.  Syd literally carries the water for our team, grabbing the trainer bag, stick bag, or whatever needs loading on the bus for road games.  She acts like more of a servant than an authority figure and that is why each one of her teammates will go through the wall for her.  The first thing Syd does when she scores a goal is find the player to pass her the puck & gives her a bear hug.
