It is with extreme pleasure and without reservation that I write a letter of recommendation for Sydnee Hanson. I have been a two sport head coach for 16 years. Sydnee is the best leader I have worked with in those 16 years. She will make a big impact being a student-athlete at your school. I have never seen a student-athlete take such great ownership and initiative in their development as a student, athlete, and person. While working with student-athletes in the classroom, weight room, and arena; I have not worked with a more dedicated, determined, and hard working individual. Simply put, Sydnee will not settle for anything less than success. No other student or athlete that I have been afforded the opportunity to teach or coach possesses the exceptional qualities that are so visibly seen in Sydnee’s character. At the base of her exceptional character are honesty, integrity, perseverance, respect, self-discipline, responsibility, compassion, trustworthiness, and fairness.

Skating and playing hockey is only one piece of becoming an elite hockey player. This belief and Sydnee’s work ethic have led her to participate in a four-day strength and conditioning program year-round while being a member of the Link Crew Leadership, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and participating in numerous volunteer activities. Sydnee was the physical education student of the year, is ranked in the top 10% of her class, and will be a two-time captain for a success Maple Grove hockey team. Sydnee takes great pride in being a leader in all aspects of her life.

Sydnee wants to be the best. This desire motivates and challenges her daily. She is committed to an honest work ethic and will “go the extra mileâ€_x009d_ and make the road leads to success. Sydnee is a true competitor, true team player, and is a much deserving candidate to be accepted to your school. You would be forever excited about having her as a student-athlete at your school.

Sydnee possesses a variety of skills and experiences, which assure her success in all her future endeavors. She is a natural leader and this is apparent in all activities and situations involving her. She leads by her actions, her words, her experience, and her caring nature. Sydnee has been a leader in her course work, athletics, and in the community. Her involvement in leadership activities at the high school, at church, and around the community, express her commitment to actively participate and give of herself and her energies to objects/situations that touch her life. Sydnee shapes and impacts the lives of our youth by engaging in community outreach opportunities. She takes great pride in her responsibilities as a role model for children of all ages. Her leadership on and off the ice is second to none and her values and integrity do not waiver.

On a personal level, Sydnee is the kind of role model today’s youth need to experience. She is an especially welcome model for young girls. Sydnee presents a strong, physically fit female presence that is much needed in the lives of our future female leaders.
