Shannon Shea embodies everything the Hobey Baker Award represents: character, leadership, integrity, and excellence beyond the stat sheet.

As our senior captain, Shannon has never led for recognition — she leads because she cares. She is the steady presence in our locker room, the voice that brings teammates together, and the player who consistently makes the smart play when the game is on the line. Her hockey IQ, composure with the puck, and commitment to team-first play elevate everyone around her. She holds herself accountable before holding others accountable and sets the standard for work ethic every single day.

Beyond the rink, Shannon’s impact reaches even further. Through her involvement in campus ministry at school, she lives out her values by serving others and building community. She has coordinated school-wide coat drives for two consecutive years, helping provide warm clothing to families in need during the winter months. She also volunteers her time with Learn to Skate programs in Rhode Island, mentoring young skaters and helping grow the game she loves. She understands that leadership is not just about wearing a letter, it’s about giving back.

Shannon represents the complete student-athlete: selfless, resilient, and deeply committed to something bigger than herself. Her legacy will not only be measured in wins and statistics, but in the culture she strengthened and the community she served. For her leadership on the ice and her character off of it, she is truly deserving of Hobey Baker recognition.
